Student Responsibilities
As my student you are responsible for practicing regularly. For a beginning student that means 30 minutes/day; an intermediate student, 30-45 minutes/day; and an advanced student, at least 1 hour/day.
In addition to practicing assigned materials, being prepared for your lessons also means bringing your music, your notebook, and your instrument to your lesson. Be sure your instrument is well maintained so that valuable lesson time is not lost on an instrument needing repair. A metronome and a tuner are highly recommended practice tools, however it is not necessary to bring them to your lesson.
As my student you are responsible for attending weekly lessons. Your monthly tuition, due the first lesson of the month, reserves a time slot in my schedule. Make up lessons are not guaranteed if you miss your scheduled lesson.
If you elect to participate in the Certificate of Merit Program, you are responsible to complete all assigned music theory materials, in addition to learning the required technique and repertoire.
